Anonymous asked: Why do people like Takumi when he's just a pandering version of Innes?

Takumi is not a pandering version of Innes. Saying that would be equivalent to saying that Hayato is a pandering version of Azel. Or that Sain is a pandering version of Homer. Aside from 1 personality trait, these two characters are very different.

Takumi has a self-esteem issues and strives to be recognized for talents. Look at his Kiragi support, he’s jealous that his son could surpass him.

While Innes has a very analytical mind and as a result his personal relationships suffer from that. Look at his Tana Support.

They may act asshole-ish at times but Takumi is NOT a pandering version of Innes.

Innes is the Crown Prince of Frelia and a hailed tactical genius who views Ephraim as a rival because they are similar (though Ephraim is much more reckless, he’s still considered a genius). Innes does not have a magical bow that is only usable by him (a lot of people have Neimi use Nidhogg) just his wits and stats.

Takumi is the second prince of a country, his BROTHER is the genius, not him. He is insecure because he knows he can never measure up to Ryoma and he feels unloved. (By contrast, his counterpart in Conquest, Leon, is confident in his own skills and loves/honors his brother Xander.)

Takumi also has a magical bow that only he can use. Innes never got that.

Honestly? Takumi is more like Lyon than anyone else in Sacred Stones, even though Lyon is the Imperial Prince,

As for anonymous’s question, which you didn’t answer: People love Takumi because he’s a godlike unit in Birthright/Revelation (because that bow is amazing), and in all routes because he’s flawed and thus relatable. When people can identify with a character’s flaws and traits, they tend to love that character because they see themselves reflected in a character that isn’t a cardboard enemy.
