revolving-bunker asked: FE asks: Triple Threat, Perfectionist, Aether, Paragon, and Vow of Friendship
Triple Threat: Swords, lances, or axes?
Lances, both pre- and post-weapons triangle. They’ve got a nice balance between power and accuracy, are relatively uncommon as a standalone weapon (which is why I enjoy characters like Ephraim, Nephenee, and Oboro as units so much), and they look cool.
Sain said it best: “The lance is more heroic. A knight should look heroic, don’t you think?”
Perfectionist: Do you like to unlock/get every unit?
Yes, and it drives me nuts when it’s impossible to do so. I’m looking at you, Samson and Arran. Olwen and Ilios. IUCHAR AND IUCHARBA. GAH.
I can handle difficult or stupid recruitment requirements (fuck you Xavier), but one-or-the-other kills me errytime.
Aether: Favorite lord?
ELIWOOD–

I used to have no idea who my favorite lord was until I played through FE7 again recently, and Eliwood finally stuck out and shone to me. He’s bright, incredibly kind, capable of learning from his fuckups and not letting them ruin him, more than a capable leader from what we see of him in FE6, and a good dad if Roy is of any indication. Sure his bases are bad and his growth leaves him mediocre more often than not, but his overall character more than makes up for that. And he gets a badass sword. And a horse. And he’s really cute.
Also huge props for his motivations being more human than “shit man I gotta get my kingdom back”, and for having a wide emotional range. When bad things happen to Eliwood, you feel for him. He’s sensitive but by no means weak, and it’s hugely satisfying to see him continue the good fight after his various stops on the trauma train.
Runner-up favorite lords are my boys Seliph and Lief.
Paragon: Was there a unit that you put extra effort into/ favored over others?
Eliwood, your stats dear god please take all these boosters Not that they need it, but I do end up feeding kills and stat items to Kent and Sain because I adore my christmas knight butcher bros. I also gave a lot of attention to Finn (again, not that he needed it once he got his brave lance). Rhys got a lot of favor despite being a healbot, and I tend to like training Deirdre despite The Reasons Not To.
Vow of Friendship: Do you reset if you lose units in battle?
YES AND I HATE IT
